1919 Creative Studio
Marketing and Digital Solutions
form following function: the link between art and technology.
1919 creates interactive brand experiences across all media platforms for lifestyle, media and entertainment companies. Through distinctive creative direction, smart technology, and efficient production we deliver communication and digital solutions that engage the target audience and monetizes our clients' assets.
1919's creative discipline, experience and craft is rooted in classic graphic design and advertising principles that are applied to all multi-media interactive executions.
"Everything communicates" captures the essence of an integrated marketing program --where all the elements communicate the same message, have the same look and feel, and tell the same story. At 1919, the "idea"--that brilliant proposition on which a great brand story is based--is fundamental. Our unique and award-winning work speaks to the right side of the brain with passion, provoking the intended emotional reaction and cutting through the clutter.
1919 holistic digital solutions take full advantage of our knowledge of trends, popular culture, new technology and new media enabling us to plan, conceive and then produce integrated, innovative and provocative concepts developed into successful marketing programs.

Peter Klueger
Founding Creative Director
The Meister of the Interactive Experience, Peter brings his diverse background in advertising, branding, interactive, digital filmmaking and classic graphic design into complete harmony at 1919. His knowledge and vision is truly 360 as he takes multi-dimensional creative direction to a new level.
For the past 20 years he has developed award winning creative marketing solutions for a range of consumer and lifestyle brands from Ralph Lauren, Mercedes Benz, and BMW to Kellogg's, Canon, Davidoff and Nivea. Our portfolio reflects Peter’s unique visual style and demanding graphic sensibilities. Peter’s work is both elegant and approachable. His ideas are inventive, innovative, and clever. While the design components are sophisticated and often the on the 'cutting edge', his work avoids drawing attention to itself, and stands out with clear messaging and a 'timeless' quality.
Before joining 1919, Peter worked as Global Creative Director of the interactive ad agency KPE for a wide range of entertainment/lifestyle/fashion focused companies including Sony and Sony Style, Polo Ralph Lauren, Discovery Network, Miramax and Cablevision. He developed branded websites for stars like Alicia Keys and celebrity make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin. Previously he worked as Creative Director, at Ogilvy & Mather in New York, for American Express globally and as Associate Creative Director on Jaguar, IBM and Motorola. Peter's team won the highly competitive pitch for a global campaign for Motorola, Hello Moto, which continues today.
In Germany, Peter worked for some of Europe's top advertising agencies and brand identity firms and eventually founded his own design and branding studio before migrating to NYC.
He directs commercials and short films, works as a photographer, art director and designer. Strongly influenced by the Bauhaus movement of art and design, Peter is a graphic design masters graduate of Hannover State Academy of Fine Arts and also holds a master's degree in Multimedia and Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Gary Langstaff
Strategist
"Bloody 'ell! It doesn't have to be that complicated!"
As the former head of marketing and brand strategy for Burger King, Gary Langstaff is a brash, opinionated risk taker. Evidently taking risks has its rewards: during his tenure at BK the chain reversed a five year slide and grew in both sales per restaurant and systems sales and profits. Before that, Gary was Executive Vice President/Marketing at Hardee's Food Systems, where his approach helped to displace Wendy's as the #3 burger chain while reaping 25% per unit sales growth. At 1919, Gary has worked closely with AT&T Broadband, Coca-Cola, Close To My Heart, RxMarketplace.com and InSite to develop comprehensive marketing strategies which influence all elements of a company's marketing mix. Prior to moving into the corporate theatre, Gary spent twelve years of distinction in the advertising business, primarily at Benton & Bowles (now DMB&B). In 1985 he opened and managed the Los Angeles office of Wieden & Kennedy, Inc. Before joining 1919, Gary capitalized on his experience in consumer marketing, brand strategy and information management under the aegis of his Steamboat Springs-based company, Retail Resolve. Clients included AT&T, BellCable Media, Taco Bell, Outback Steakhouse and Anheuser Busch. Throughout his career Gary's strategic insights and "creative first" approach have helped his clients and agencies garner international kudos and hundreds of awards.
